Gymnasts win Chisholm Trail Invtational

The Lady Scots Gymnastics team traveled to Saginaw to compete in the Chisholm Trail Invitation on Thursday. HP won the meet by nearly 2 points over College Station.

Junior Captain Lily Ford placed 1st on Beam and Floor, was 6th on Bars, and tied for 3rd All-Around. She successfully completed her tuck half dismount off uneven bars. Her highest score of the meet was 9.5 on Floor.

Junior Margaret Maambo tied for 1st on Bars, placed 2nd on Vault, 6th on Floor, and tied for 3rd All-Around. Margaret successfully competed a Yurchenko vault, and her new toe-on front dismount off uneven bars. Her highest score of the meet was 9.3 on Floor.

Junior Captain Ana Simpson competed on Bars and Beam placing 1st on Bars, and 8th on Beam. Ana successfully competed her cast handstand pirouette on uneven bars and her flight series on beam. Her highest score of t =the meet was 9.0 on Bars.

Junior Erin Bollinger placed 4th on Beam, 7th on Bars, 8th on Vault and 8th All-Around. Erin successfully competed giants to layout flyaway on uneven bars, and her flight series on beam. Her highest score of the meet was 9.1 on Beam.

Freshman Harper O’Neal finished 12th on Bars and 12th on Floor. She successfully competed her new optional floor routine and a flyaway dismount off uneven bars. Her highest score of the meet was 8.9 on Floor.

Sophomore Caroline Fullwood placed 8th on Vault and placed 16th All-Around. She successfully competed Half on, Half off Vault. Her highest score of the meet was 8.3 on Vault.

Sophomore Era Johnson competed on Vault scoring 7.3.

The next optional meet for the Lady Scots is Mark Williams Invitational hosted by Trinity High School. The meet is scheduled for Wednesday, February 1 in Euless, Texas.
