On Saturday, August 3rd, the Lady Scots Cross Country Team served the community by volunteering at Mercy Street. The captains chose Mercy Street as the team's community service project.

The team was divided into five groups and completed the following tasks: cleaned and organized the garage, organized supplies, sanded and painted poles, painted a fence, and organized new swimming equipment. It was fun watching the team work together and accomplish so much in two and a half hours.

Mercy Street is located in West Dallas and serves children 4-18 years of age. It began in 2003 as a mentoring program and now includes sports and leadership programs. The mission of the non-profit organization is "to cultivate mutually transforming relationships with inner-city youth through Christian mentorship".

The team made an impact on children's lives who they will probably never meet. It was definitely a Great Day To Be A Lady Scot!
