The Lady Scots Cross Country Team competed very well at the Greenhill Six Mile Relay on Saturday, August 27th at Norbuck Park. This was the 37th year for the event.
In the 6A/5A Varsity Girls Division, there were 18 teams, and the Lady Scots placed 1st and 2nd. The relay members for the 1st place team were senior Charlotte Hudson, freshman Maddie Heckler, junior Kayla Dickerson, and sophomore Ellie Preston. The relay time was 36:56.09 – the 12th fastest relay time in the history of the Lady Scots. The 2nd place relay members were senior Sara Cavey, junior Ashley Goldman, and sophomores Caroline Scott and Samantha Meck. The relay time was 39:03.48.
In the Junior Varsity “A” Girls Division, there were 24 teams. HP had two teams compete in this division. The teams placed 2nd and 3rd. The 2nd place relay members were junior Rylie Galanos, freshman Campbell Dean, sophomore Varsha Ravi, and junior Gracie Spillman. The 3rd place team consisted of sophomores Tessa Nurre and Mary Katherine Diehl, freshman Hayden Gray, and junior Katie Taulbee.
In the Junior Varsity “B” Girls Division, there were 38 teams. HP had eight teams compete in this division. The top HP team placed 1st. The relay members were freshmen Presley Pate and Julia Berlin, sophomore Natalie Miller, and senior Julia Yates.
The next meet for the Lady Scots will be the Marcus Coach T Invitational at North Lakes Park in Denton on Saturday, September 3rd. The first race begins at 7:15 a.m.
