The Running Scots competed well on the district course at the Lovejoy XC Fall Festival at Myers Park in McKinney.

The Varsity Elite team of Jacob Baumgartner, Bennett Blevins, Cole Davis, Spencer Haag, Luke Johnson, Preston Mallat, Antonio Sanchez, Akash Shah, and Beau Stewart finished 17th of 34 overall in a loaded field of teams that included 10 state meet qualifiers from the 2023 season. Among 5A competitors the team finished 4th overall. The team was led by great performances from junior Spencer Haag and senior Bennett Blevins who both finished in the top 50 runners. Luke Johnson finished in the top 5 for the varsity with a personal best time of 17:31.

The Varsity Open were shorthanded with only 5 runners but ran well finishing 33rd overall. The team was led by senior Captains Spencer Luu and Archer Stahl who finished with sub-18 times.

The JV raced in the Elite division and finished 21st of 36 overall and 4th among 5A teams. The team was led by freshmen Max Walters and Samarjeet Singh.

The Running Scots will compete next at the Nike South Invitational at Bear Branch Park in the Woodlands on Saturday, September 28th. Race time is 7:45 am.
