Congratulations to the Running Scots as they competed well at the Gerald Richey XC Invitational on Saturday at Lynn Creek Park in Grand Prairie. Both the Varsity and Junior Varsity were meet champions and had six runners finish in the top ten in both divisions.

The Varsity team of Jacob Baumgartner, Bennett Blevins, Spencer Haag, Luke Hall, Charlie Hamilton, Luke Johnson, Spencer Luu, Preston Mallat, Akash Shah and Beau Stewart won the 6A-5A Division with a team time of 16:49.7. The team was first in a field of teams that included 9 regional qualifiers from last season. Junior Spencer Haag (2nd), Senior Bennett Blevins (4th), and Junior Akash Shah (10th) led the team to an improved 1-5 split time from last week of 69 seconds. Six runners including Junior Luke Hall, Junior Jacob Baumgartner, and Freshman Beau Stewart all finished in the top 13.

The Junior Varsity also finished 1st in the team standings and were led by top ten finishes from Freshman Cole Davis (1st), Senior Archer Stahl (3rd), and Freshman Collin Krantz (6th). Five runners including Junior Anthony Glennon and Freshman Max Walters finished in the top 16.

The Running Scots will compete this Saturday at the Lovejoy XC Fall Festival at Myers Park in McKinney. Race time is 7:40 AM. Go Scots!!
