The Lady Scots Cross Country Team had a successful day on Saturday, September 23rd. Two teams competed at the Southlake Invite #2 at Bob Jones Park, and the other two teams competed at the Lubbock ISD Invitational at Mae Simmons Park in Lubbock (the location of the Region I Meet in October).

In the Varsity Open Division at the Southlake Meet, the team placed 3rd with 90 points. There were nine teams and 90 runners in this division. Senior captain Rylie Galanos led the team by placing 15th. The other team members were Lucy Burns, Price Rhodes, Annika Johnson, Gracie Golden, Ellie Chong, and Leia Mufraggi.

In the JV Division at the Southlake Invite, the team also placed 3rd with 70 points. There were 10 teams and 130 runners. Esme Schroeder led the team by placing 6th. The other top six runners for the team were Avi Levy, Natalie Miller, Kamryn Tillery, senior captain Adalyn Booth, Morgan Howarth, and Emery Paulsen.

The following runners set new personal records: Lucy Burns, Olivia Deadman, Anna Katherine Goldman, Annika Johnson, Avi Levy, Emery Paulsen, Price Rhodes, Esme Schroeder, Kamryn Tillery, and Alejandra Villasana.

At the Lubbock ISD Invitational, the Varsity won the 6A Division. There were 7 teams and 44 runners. Maddie Heckler placed 2nd with a time of 20:01.0. Kayla Dickerson placed 4th, Claire Deeken placed 6th, Samantha Meck placed 8th, and Caroline Scott placed 9th. The other team members were Varsha Ravi and Gracie Spillman.

In the JV Division, there weren’t any team scores. The first four places went to the Lady Scots – Katie Taulbee (1st), Presley Pate (2nd), Hayden Gray (3rd), and senior captain Ashley Goldman (4th). The other team members were Julia Berlin and Campbell Ragan.
