Running Scots compete @ Jesuit XC Classic

The Running Scots competed well at the Jesuit XC Classic on Saturday at the Prestonwood Polo Club in Oak Point.

The Varsity team of Jacob Baumgartner, Bennett Blevins, Jackson Dean, Luke Hall, William Jaudes, Mark Nance, Frankie Stewart, and Max Villasana finished 9th overall in the Elite Division with an average team time of 16:41. The team had an outstanding 1-5 split of 20 seconds - best in the division. The team was led by outstanding performances from Senior William Jaudes who finished 37th overall with a time of 16:29, and Senior Mark Nance who ran a personal best time of 16:48 in his first meet of the season. Sophomore Luke Hall also ran close to a personal best time and finished 2nd in the group.

The Junior Varsity finished 9th overall and were led by Sophomore Akash Shah. Shah finished 16th overall with a time of 18:00.7. Outstanding performances were also turned in by Senior Chris Crespo, Sophomore Preston Mallat, and Junior Jarrett Turner, who all finished in the top 50 in a very large field of over 400 runners. Turner finished with a personal best time of 19:00.6.

Varsity runners of the week are Luke Hall and Mark Nance. The JV runner of the week is Jarrett Turner.

The Running Scots will compete for the District 7-6A Championship on Thursday, October 12th at Myers Park in McKinney.
