Lady Scots Cross Country Team Competes at Lovejoy XC Fall Festival

The Lady Scots Cross Country Team had a great day on Saturday, September 16th as they competed at the Lovejoy XC Fall Festival at Myers Park in McKinney. Myers Park is the venue for the District 7-6A Championships on October 12th.

In the Elite Varsity, the team placed 5th with 254 points. There were 30 teams and 238 runners in this division. Senior Kayla Dickerson led the team by placing 26th with a time of 19:03.1. Sophomore Maddie Heckler placed 42nd with a time of 19:25.2, and freshman Claire Deeken placed 44th with a time of 19:26.5. The other team members were Samantha Meck, Gracie Spillman, Varsha Ravi, Campbell Dean, and Caroline Scott.

In the Varsity Division, the team placed 3rd with 105 points. There were 22 teams and 179 runners. Katie Taulbee was the lead runner for the team by placing 5th with a time of 20:25.6. Hayden Gray also had a top 20 finish as she placed 13th with a time of 20:47.1. The other runners were Presley Pate, Julia Berlin, senior captains Ashley Goldman and Rylie Galanos.

In the Elite JV Division, the team placed 4th with 113 points. There were 18 teams and 181 runners. Placing in the top 20 were Campbell Ragan – 14th with a time of 21:59.3, Price Rhodes – 16th, and Lucy Burns – 20th. The other runners were Gracie Golden, Annika Johnson, Ellie Chong, and senior captain Adalyn Booth.

In the JV Division, the team placed 2nd with 65 points. There were 13 teams and 159 runners. Leia Mufraggi led the team by placing 13th with a time of 23:17.5. The other top six runners were Avi Levy, Esme Schroeder, Kamryn Tillery, Natalie Miller, Emery Paulsen, and Morgan Howarth.

The following runners set new personal records: Claire Deeken, Hayden Gray, Price Rhodes, Gracie Golden, Kamryn Tillery, Emery Paulsen, Caroline Diehl, and Alejandra Villasana.

The next meet for the Lady Scots is the Lubbock ISD Invitational and the Southlake Invite #2 on Saturday, September 23rd. The first race in Lubbock is at 12:05 p.m., and the first race at Bob Jones Park in Southlake is 7:35 a.m.
