The Lady Scots Cross Country Team competed at the Marcus Coach T Invitational on Saturday, September 2nd at North Lakes Park in Denton. The Elite Varsity Team placed 7th out of 25 teams with 250 points. Flower Mound won the meet with 114 points. Sophomore Maddie Heckler had a great race and was the top runner for the Lady Scots as she placed 14th out of 179 runners with a time of 18:50.2. The other team members were senior Kayla Dickerson, freshmen Claire Deeken and Ryan Sontag, senior Gracie Spillman, junior Caroline Scott, and senior Katie Taulbee.

In the Open Varsity Division, the team placed 3rd out of 28 teams with 133 points. There were 233 runners in this division. Sophomore Campbell Dean led the team with a time of 20:28.2. The other runners were juniors Varsha Ravi and Tessa Nurre, senior captain Ashley Goldman, sophomore Presley Pate, and senior captain Rylie Galanos.

In the Elite JV Division, the team placed 2nd out of 24 teams with 68 points. There were 291 runners in this division. Sophomore Hayden Gray was the top runner for the Lady Scots as she placed 7th. The other top six runners were sophomore Julia Berlin, freshman Campbell Ragan, junior Elaine Cochran, sophomore Gracie Golden, junior Price Rhodes, and sophomore Annika Johnson.

In the Open JV Division, the team placed 2nd out of nine teams. There were 123 runners in this division. Freshman Kate Houston placed 12th followed by senior captain Adalyn Booth who placed 14th. The other top five runners for the Lady Scots were senior Mary Susan Scheble, freshman Kamryn Tillery, senior Ava Byrd, sophomore Kate Lipscomb, and freshman Emery Paulsen.
