This season the Lady Scots Cross Country Captains chose The Food Ministry at the Lovers Lane United Methodist Church for the team’s community service project. On Saturday, August 5th, the team packed bags of fresh produce and backpacks with school supplies. As cars pulled into the parking lot, the athletes delivered the goods to each family.

In two hours, according to Randall Lucas, Associate Pastor at LLUMC, “the team helped feed 6,000 people experiencing food insecurity in the north Dallas area. In addition, they helped provide backpacks full of school supplies for 145 kids living in poverty. The group made a tangible difference in the lives of kids, women, and men.”
