LADY SCOTS TRACK & FIELD TEAM COMPETES WELL AT TEXAS RELAYS

Lady Scots Track & Field Team Competes Well At Texas Relays

Congratulations to the Lady Scots Track & Field athletes who competed at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays on Friday, March 31st and Saturday, April 1st in Austin. The team qualified to compete at the Relays in the Distance Medley Relay and the 4 x 800 M Relay. The team also competed in the 4 x 400 M Relay.

The first race for the Lady Scots was the 4 x 400 M Relay. The team placed 56th out of 99 teams with a time of 4:03.80. The team members were Kayla Dickerson, Caroline Scott, senior captain Charlya Williams, and Parker Herzog.

The second race for the Lady Scots was the Distance Medley Relay. The team placed 9th out of 17 teams with a time of 12:18.33 – a new school record. The previous record was 12:18.74 set in 2021 by Alli Grace Ott, Elle Thompson, Izzy Blaylock, and Cameron Fawcett. The team members were Kayla Dickerson (1200), Georgia Jones (400), Caroline Scott (800), and Charlotte Hudson (1600).

The final relay for the Lady Scots on Saturday was the 4 x 800 M Relay. The team placed 7th out of 16 teams with a time of 9:28.78 – a new personal record. The team members were Kayla Dickerson, Caroline Scott, Charlotte Hudson, and Maddie Heckler.

The Texas Relays is an amazing event with high school teams, college teams, and professional athletes. It’s a great atmosphere for the sport of track & field!
