GYMNASTS FINISH 1ST ON DAY 1 OF DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIPS

Gymnasts finish 1st on Day 1 of District Championships

The Lady Scots are leading in the standings at the 2023 District Championships after Day 1 of competition. The gymnasts counted 9.0 or higher on every event to finish in 1st, nearly five points ahead of Lakeview Centennial.

Junior Erin Bollinger led the Lady Scots with an amazing competition. She won Bars in the compulsory competition and placed 2nd in the All-Around scoring 9.4 on three of her four events. Erin placed 3rd on Vault, 2nd on Beam, and 4th on Floor. She scored season highs on Bars, Beam, Floor, and All-Around.

Junior Captain Ana Simpson won Floor on Day 1, placed 2nd on Vault, 4th on Bars, 5th on Beam, and 3rd All-Around. Her highest score of the meet was 9.6 on Floor.

Junior Margaret Maambo placed 4th on Vault, 3rd on Bars, 7th on Beam, 4th on Floor, and 4th All-Around.
Margaret scored a season high on Bars, and her highest score of the day was 9.4 on Floor.

Sophomore Caroline Fullwood continued the Lady Scots’ successful competition placing 6th on Vault, 6th on Bars, 10th on Beam, 8th on Floor, and 7th All-Around. Caroline scored season highs on Vault, Bars, and All-Around. Her highest score of the meet was 9.2 on Floor.

The Lady Scots continue their drive to be crowned District Championships on Thursday, Day 2 of competition. Good luck and Go Lady Scots!
