On Saturday, February 4th, the Lady Scots Track & Field Team participated in two community service projects. The team started off the day by going to Mercy Street in west Dallas. Mercy Street is about sports – mentoring – leadership, and the organization “exists to cultivate mutually transforming relationships with inner-city youth through Christian mentorship.” The team picked up trash, organized the kitchen, cleaned poles so they could be painted, and vacuumed air vents.

Following Mercy Street, the team went to the Special Olympics Basketball Tournament that was being held at the high school and cheered for the HP teams. It was great to see so many smiling faces!

It was a great day to be a Lady Scot!

Go Scots!
