GYMNAST UNDEFEATED AS THEY BEAT 11 TEAMS TO WIN THE TOYS FOR TOTS INVITE

Gymnast Undefeated as they beat 11 teams to win the Toys for Tots Invite

The Gymnasts win again, beating 11 teams at the LD Bell Toys for Tots Invitational, Dec 1st.

Their winning score of 174.6 ranks them 2nd in the State.
John Sartain and William Benz earned “player of the week”.

Benz placed top 10 on Pommel Horse and Horizontal Bar with near perfect scores of 9.8 and 9.4.

John Sartain had a personal best of 57.2 in the all-around and is ranked 6th in the State. Sartain was 2nd on Pommel Horse with a 9.9 and 2nd on Parallel Bars with a 9.8 while placing 4th in the all-around.

Ryder Greene, coming back from an injury had two personal bests of 9.5 on Rings and 9.5 on Vault.

Austin Chapman also competed on three events, placing second on Pommel horses 9.9 and 2nd on Parallel Bars with a 9.8.

Overall, the team score on Pommel Horse was an amazing 29.8 out of a possible 30 – two 9.8’s and one 10! Parallel Bars was the same with a 29.6 points out of 30.

Lance Lorio also proved his consistency with a 9.8 this week. His 9.85 average over two meets makes him the number 2 gymnast in the State. Only one person has a higher average on Rings….Clayton Staunton.

Clay Staunton won 3 events and was 2nd in the other 3 events but is still the number one ranked gymnast in the state and remains undefeated in the all-around, a title he has held since 2021.

Other gymnasts helping the team to their now undefeated season were Jake Ford, Tommy Simpson, JT Mills, Sam Hamilton and Henrik Shalley.
