RUNNING SCOTS COMPETE @ NIKE SOUTH XC INVITATIONAL

Running Scots compete @ Nike South XC Invitational

The Running Scots competed well at the Nike South XC Invitational at Bear Branch Park in the Woodlands on Saturday. The varsity team of Jackson Dean, Luke Finch, Drew Gregory, Spencer Haag, Hunter Hegi, William Jaudes, and Kalder Korte qualified into the Elite division and finished 19th overall with a season best team average time of 16:43.1. The team was led by William Jaudes who finished 59th overall with a time of 16:20.7. 5 runners finished with personal best times. The Golden Spike Varsity Runners of the week are Hunter Hegi and Spencer Haag.

The Running Scots also qualified for a second varsity race in the Green division and finished 28th out of 62 teams competing. The team was led by Jake Richter who matched his personal best time of 17:12. Mark Philbin also turned in an outstanding race finishing with a season best 17:29.4. Three other runners ran personal best times. Both Richter and Philbin are Varsity runners of the week.

The JV ran three teams in two separate races on Saturday. JV team A finished an outstanding 9th overall out of 32 teams competing, and team C was 25th. 13 runners on three JV teams ran personal best times. The JV runners of the week are Jacob Baumgartner and Max Villasana.

The team will compete for the District 7-6A Championship on Thursday, October 13th at Myers Park in McKinney. The team will be looking to win its 5th consecutive district title and qualify for its 25th consecutive Regional Championship meet. Go Scots!!
