Running Scots compete @ Garmin Milesplit TX XC Invitational

The Running Scots competed well at the Garmin Milesplit XC Invitational on Saturday at South Lakes Park in Denton. The varsity team of Jackson Dean, Drew Gregory, Spencer Haag, Hunter Hegi, Kalder Korte, Jake Richter, and Luke Smith finished 23rd in the Elite Division. The team was led by Freshman Spencer Haag as he finished 77th overall with a time of 17:02.70. Jackson Dean also turned in an outstanding performance as he finished in the top 5 for the Running Scots for the 7th week in a row, almost equaling his personal best time of 17:09.9. Dean is the Golden Spike varsity runner of the week.

In the Open Varsity division the team finished 12th overall with an average time of 18:45. The varsity open runner of the week is Bennett Blevins as he neared a personal best with a time of 18:30.4 on the long course.

In the JV Elite Division the team finished 14th overall in a large and competitive field. The JV runner of the week is Philip Nettleton who came within two seconds of a personal best time in a crowded field.

The Running Scots compete next Saturday at the Nike South Invitational at Bear Branch Park in The Woodlands. Go Scots!!
