The Running Scots competed well at the Flower Mound Invitational at Shadow Ridge Middle School on Saturday. The varsity team of Jackson Dean, Drew Gregory, Spencer Haag, Hunter Hegi, William Jaudes, Kalder Korte, Mark Nance, Jake Richter and Luke Smith finished 2nd overall in the team standings with a score of 62 with a combined team time of 16:46. William Jaudes turned in an outstanding performance as he finished as meet champion with a time of 16:21.87. Another outstanding performance was turned in by Jake Richter as he finished 18th overall in the meet and ran a personal best time of 17:12.62. Six runners earned medals finishing in the top 20. Both Jaudes and Richter are the Golden Spike varsity runners of the week. The JV finished 3rd overall with a score of 59 and were led by Mark Philbin with a top ten individual finish in the meet with a season best time of 18:08.74. Five JV runners finished in the top 20, and 11 overall finished with personal best times. Bennet Blevins and Luke Hall also turned in outstanding performances as they both finished 12th and 13th overall with personal best times. Blevins and Hall are JV runners of the week. The Running Scots will compete this Saturday at the Lovejoy XC Fall Festival at Myers Park in McKinney. Race-time is 7:40. Go Scots!!
