The Running Scots competed well at the Southlake XC Invitational at Bob Jones park on Saturday. The varsity team of Luke Finch, Hunter Hegi, Kalder Korte, Mark Philbin, Drew Gregory, William Jaudes, Jackson Dean, Jake Richter, Luke Smith, and Spencer Haag finished 11th out of 40 teams competing overall with a season best combined team average of 16:49.09. An outstanding performance was turned in by junior William Jaudes who finished 41st individually and ran a personal best time of 16:02.75. Jaudes is this weeks' Golden Spike Runner of the Week. Three other runners ran sub-17 minute times for the Running Scots on Saturday - Hunter Hegi @ 16:51.65, Drew Gregory @ 16:56.65 and Luke Finch @ 16:59.51. Eight varsity runners ran personal best times on Saturday. The junior varsity finished 5th out of 40 teams competing and were led by a top ten individual finish by sophomore Frankie Stewart who finished with a time of 18:12.38. Stewart is the JV runner of the week. The team competes next Saturday at the Marcus Coach T Invitational. Race time is 7:30 am. Go Scots!!
