Congratulations to the Lady Scots Cross Country Team as both the Varsity and JV won the Waxahachie Woodhouse Invitational on Saturday, August 20th. In the Varsity Division, there were 14 teams and 125 runners. The Varsity scored 45 points and was led by senior Charlotte Hudson who placed third with a time of 18:21.9 (a new season best). Freshman Maddie Heckler placed 5th and set a new personal record with a time of 19:00.3, and sophomore Ellie Preston placed 9th and also set a new personal record of 19:20.3. Juniors Kayla Dickerson placed 12th (19:31.0), Ashley Goldman placed 18th (20:04.8), and Gracie Spillman placed 26th with a time of 20:24.0 - a new personal record. The other team members were freshman Campbell Dean (29th - 20:31.0 - a new personal record) , and sophomore Tessa Nurre placed 34th (20:55.4 - a new personal record).

In the JV Division, there were 14 teams and 160 runners. The JV team scored 24 points. Sophomore Caroline Scott won the division with a time of 20:53.2. The team had five other runners in the top ten: junior Katie Taulbee - 4th , sophomore Mary Katherine Diehl - 5th, freshman Hayden Gray - 6th, junior Rylie Galanos - 8th, and freshman Julia Berlin - 9th. Rounding out the top 20 were senior Julia Yates - 15th, senior Alexis Scott - 16th, freshman Presley Pate - 17th, and sophomore Natalie Miller - 20th.

The next meet for the Lady Scots will be the Greenhill 6-Mile Relay at Norbuck Park on Saturday, August 27th. The Varsity races at 7:35 a.m., followed by the JV A at 8:35 a.m., and the JV B at 9:35 a.m.
