GYMNASTS COMPETE AT 2022 STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Gymnasts compete at 2022 State Championships

The Lady Scots Gymnastics Team finished a fantastic season with a strong showing at State Championships. The Lady Scots finished off of the podium, but maintained a consistency that proved they deserved to be among the best teams in the state.

The Lady Scots were led by Sophomore Ana Simpson who placed 17th in the All-Around and 26th on Bars. Ana was the highest ranked female gymnast at Highland Park this year.

Senior Captain Kennedy Downing placed 23rd All-Around and 21st on Beam. She finished ranked 2nd among the female gymnasts from HP. Kennedy was named to the Senior National Team and will compete at the Senior Showcase in Fort Myers, Florida, May 19-21, 2022, representing the State of Texas.

Senior Captain Linda Tran placed 25th All-Around and 15th on Bars. Her 15th place finish on Bars was the highest placement for the Lady Scots at the State Championships. Linda was named to the Senior National Team and will also compete at the Senior Showcase in Fort Myers, Florida, May 19-21, 2022, representing the State of Texas.

Sophomore Lily Ford placed 29th All-Around and 18th on Beam.

Junior Olivia Adams competed in the All-Around and placed 57th overall.

Freshman Era Johnston competed on Beam both days of competition.

Freshman Caroline Fullwood competed on Vault and Floor both days of competition, as well as Bars on Day 2.

Sophomore Riley Neumann competed on Bars on Day 1 of competition.

Congratulations to the Lady Scots on their 9th place finish at State Championships. It’s a great day to be a Scot!
