Lady Scots Track & Field Team Hosts Dual Meet vs Waxahachie

The Lady Scots Track & Field Team hosted the Waxahachie Indians in a dual meet on Friday, January 28th at Germany Park. The team competed well and many athletes improved from the previous week’s intrasquad meet.

The top performers in each event were:
• Mason Prather – Discus – 94’ 8”; Shot Put – 30’ 9”
• Callie DeSchryver – High Jump – 5’ 0”; Triple Jump – 32’ 5”
• Emory Rhodes – Long Jump – 15’ 11 ¼”; 100 M Hurdles (5H) – 15.17
• Ailey Fidler – Pole Vault – 9’ 6”
• Rylie Galanos – 3200 M Run – 13:05.37
• 4 x 100 M Relay – 51.94 (Savannah Hinze, Kate Rossley, Caroline Jirovec, and Emery Clarke)
• Kayla Dickerson – 800 M Run – 2:25.29
• Ana Simpson – 100 M Dash – 13.69; 400 M Dash – 68.43
• 4 x 200 M Relay – 1:53.25 (Caroline Jirovec, Lily Hart, Abbie Herring, Parker Herzog)
• Savannah Hinze – 300 M Hurdles (4H) – 48.79
• Gracie Spillman – 1600 M Run – 6:20.44
• 4 x 400 M Relay – 4:18.08 (Kayla Dickerson, Mary Katherine Diehl, Ellie Preston, Parker Herzog)

The next pre-season meet for the Lady Scots will be the HP Tri-Meet on Friday, February 4th at Germany Park (weather permitting). The team will host Coppell and Waxahachie. This will be a boys’ and girls’ meet. The field events and 3200 m run start at 3:30 p.m., followed by the rest of the running events at 4:35 p.m.

On Thursday, February 10th, the Lady Scots will travel to Lovejoy to compete in the Lovejoy Early Bird Track Invitational. The team will be competing against Lovejoy and Prosper Rock Hill. This will be the last pre-season meet. The shot put and the running events start at 5:00 p.m.
