Lady Scots Cross Country Team Places 5th at UIL Class 5A State Meet

Congratulations to the Lady Scots Cross Country Team as they are the 5th best team in the State of Texas as they competed at the UIL Class 5A State Championship Meet on Friday, November 5th. There were 16 teams and 151 runners. The team was led by junior Sara Cavey who placed 19th with a time of 18:50.3. The other team members were junior Charlotte Hudson (19:10.3), sophomore Kayla Dickerson (19:20.1), junior Grace Hathaway (19:27.4), senior captain Alli Grace Ott (19:36.9), sophomore Ashley Goldman (20:02.7), and freshman Ellie Preston (21:49.2). The alternates were freshmen Mary Katherine Diehl and Samantha Meck and sophomores Rylie Galanos and Gracie Spillman.

The team did an outstanding job and represented Highland Park with pride. The coaches are so proud of everyone!

The Lady Scots has had a team or an individual compete at the UIL State Cross Country Meet each year since 1975, the year girls first ran cross country. There are 256 girls cross country teams in Class 5A.
