The Lady Scots Cross Country Team competed at the Frisco ISD XC Invitational on Saturday, September 18th at the Warren Sports Complex in Frisco. In the Varsity Division, the Lady Scots won the division with 42 points. Marcus placed 2nd with 90 points. There were 16 teams and 135 runners in this division. Junior Charlotte Hudson led the team with a 2nd place finish in a time of 18:29.65. Juniors Sara Cavey (18:35.74) and Grace Hathaway (19:03.41) placed 4th and 9th respectively. Both athletes also set new season bests. Senior captain Alli Grace Ott placed 14th with a time of 19:28.34, and freshman Elise Neuhoff set a new personal record with a time of 19:33.15 and placed 16th. The other team members were sophomore Ashley Goldman (19:50.90 – a new personal record) and freshmen Ellie Preston (20:27.88) and Samantha Meck (20:43.82 – a new personal record).

In the JV Girls Division, there were 12 teams and 188 runners. The Lady Scots also won this division with 25 points. Flower Mound placed 2nd with 41 points. The top runner for the team was freshman Varsha Ravi who placed 2nd with a time of 20:57.46. Sophomore Gracie Spillman was right on her shoulder and placed 3rd with a time of 21:03.66 – a new personal record. Freshman Mary Katherine Diehl placed 5th (21:17.64 – a new personal record), sophomore Rylie Galanos placed 7th, and freshman Reese Preston placed 9th (21:46.53 – a new personal record). The other team members were senior Ava Murphy and freshman Keira Airey-Bufford (set a new personal record – 22:12.39).

Overall the team set 14 new personal records and 11 new season bests. Other personal records were: Bella Vargas, Lily Hart, Tessa Nurre, Lauren Courtney, Mary Susan Scheble, Price Rhodes, and Molly Fitzmartin; other season bests were: Lily Baumgartner, Scarlett Randall, Julia Yates, Allison Cannon, Hadley Bornemann, Katelyn Turco, Kennedy Foy, Ellie Jones, and Ava Haberer.

The next meet for the Lady Scots will be the McNeil Invitational on Saturday, September 25th at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock (location of the UIL State Meet on November 6th). The first race starts at 8:00 a.m.
