The Lady Scots Cross Country Team competed very well at the McKinney Boyd Bronco Stampede on Saturday, September 11th at Myers Park in McKinney. The course was very challenging due to the athletes climbing over 1000 meters in hills. In the Varsity Division, the team placed 1st with 49 points. There were 18 teams and 145 runners in this division. Charlotte Hudson led the team by placing 4th with a time of 18:54.6 – a new course personal record. Sara Cavey was close behind with a time of 19:05.2 and placing 6th. Grace Hathaway placed 12th with a time of 19:38.3 which was a season best and a new course personal record. Senior captain Alli Grace Ott placed 14th with a time of 19:42.4 which was also a new course record, and Ellie Preston placed 18th with a time of 19:52.2. The other team members were Elise Neuhoff (20:11.5), Ashley Goldman (20:51.0 – a new course personal record), and Rylie Galanos (21:50.3 – a new course personal record).

In the JV Division, the Lady Scots placed 1st with 26 points. There were 19 teams and 240 runners. The top runner for the JV was Samantha Meck. She placed 2nd with a new personal record of 20:50.5. Varsha Ravi placed 3rd (21:15.5), Gracie Spillman placed 5th (21:34.9), Meryl Katz placed 7th (21:41.5 – a new season best), and Reese Preston placed 10th (21:51.2 – a new personal record). The other top two team members were Ava Murphy who set a new personal record and a new course personal record and Avery Owens who also set a new course personal record.

The following Lady Scots also set new personal records: Bella Vargas, Shelby Burke, Elaine Cochran, and Molly Fitzmartin. Allison Cannon, Kennedy Foy, and Carly Steves set new course personal records.

The next meet for the Lady Scots will be the Frisco ISD XC Invitational on Saturday, September 18th. The meet will be held at Warren Sports Complex in Frisco, and the first race is at 7:30 a.m.
