The Lady Scots Cross Country Team competed at the Marcus Coach T Invitational on Saturday, September 4th at North Lakes Park in Denton. The Elite Varsity Team placed 4th out of nine teams with 108 points. Flower Mound won the meet with 36 points, followed by Southlake Carroll and Prosper. Junior Charlotte Hudson was the top runner for the Lady Scots as she placed 8th out of 67 runners with a time of 19:10.1 (a new course record) and following close behind was junior Sara Cavey. She placed 15th with a time of 19:38.4. The other team members were senior captain Alli Grace Ott (20:07.9), freshman Ellie Preston (20:16.1), freshmen Elise Neuhoff (20:42.6), junior Grace Hathaway (21:25.8), and sophomore Rylie Galanos (21:34.0).

In the Open Varsity Division, the team placed 4th out of ten teams with 105 points. There were 89 runners in this division. Freshman Samantha Meck led the team with a time of 21:39.7. The other runners were freshmen Varsha Ravi and Mary Katherine Diehl, sophomores Katie Taulbee and Gracie Spillman, senior Taylor Saphier, and freshman Reese Preston.

In the Elite JV Division, the team placed 4th out of nine teams with 105 points. There were 119 runners in this division. Junior Meryl Katz was the first Lady Scot crossing the line in 11th place with a time of 22:44.6 (a new course record). The other top six runners for the Lady Scots were seniors Ava Murphy, Bella Vargas, and Lily Baumgartner, senior captain Scarlett Randall, senior Katelyn Turco, and junior Lauren Courtney.

In the Open JV Division, the team placed 2nd out of five teams. There were 36 runners in this division. Senior Hadley Bornemann placed 3rd with a season best 24:51.9. Juniors Shelby Burke and Allison Cannon placed 8th and 9th, respectively. The other top four runners were senior Isabella Reynolds, freshman Elaine Cochran, junior Windsor Rhodes, and senior Ava Haberer.

The McKinney Boyd Bronco Stampede Invitational will be the next meet for the Lady Scots. The meet will be held at Myers Park in McKinney (the location of the District 13-5A Meet) on Saturday, September 11th. The first race begins at 7:50 a.m.
