The #1 state ranked Scots Volleyball Team had a great week last week as they defeated the #9 6A state ranked Rockwall during the home opener. The team then traveled to Austin to compete in the prestigious 68 team Volleypalooza featuring the top teams from around the state of Texas and California. The Scots defeated several of the top ranked 6A team, including undefeated #1 ranked 6A The Woodlands, to make it to the championship match where they represented Texas against the top high school team from California, Mater Dei. The Scots started strong with a first set win. The match was hard fought by both teams and Mater Dei won the match. Three of the Scots were honored with tournament awards. Juniors Sydney Breon (#11) and Ceci Gooch (#8) received All-Tournament honors and Senior Captain Emily Hellmuth (#19) was named Outstanding Hitter of the Tournament.
