Congratulations to the Lady Scots Cross Country Team as both the Varsity and JV won the Waxahachie Woodhouse Invitational on Saturday, August 21st. This was the first time for the team to compete at the Lakeview Camp venue. The Varsity scored 75 points. Canyon Randall placed 2nd with 89 points. There were 18 teams and 141 runners in this division.

Junior Charlotte Hudson led the Lady Scots by placing fifth and setting a new personal record with a time of 18:17.3. Junior Sara Cavey placed 11th with a time of 18:57.6 which was a season best. Sophomore Kayla Dickerson placed 18th (19:22.6 – new personal record), senior captain Alli Grace Ott placed 19th (19:23.8 – season best), freshman Ellie Preston placed 22nd (19:27.5), freshman Elise Neuhoff placed 29th (19:50.2 – new personal record), and sophomore Ashley Goldman placed 33rd (20:10.3 – new personal record). The other Varsity runners were junior Grace Hathaway (34th – 20:12.3 – season best), sophomore Rylie Galanos (60th – 21:05.0 – new personal record), and Samantha Meck (61st – 21:11.5 – new personal record).

The JV team scored 24 points. There were 14 teams and 164 runners in this division. Freshman Varsha Ravi won the division with a time of 20:47.1 (new personal record). Close behind Ravi were sophomore Katie Taulbee who placed 3rd with a time of 21:33.6 (season best), and senior Taylor Saphier who placed 4th with a time of 21:35.3 (new personal record). The other top four runners for the Lady Scots were Grace Spillman, Mary Katherine Diehl, Reese Preston, and Meryl Katz.

These runners also set new personal records: Grace Spillman, Mary Katherine Diehl, Reese Preston, Tessa Nurre, Lily Hart, Lauren Courtney, Price Rhodes, Elena Altschuler, Elaine Cochran, Mary Susan Scheble, Isabella Reynolds, Mary Lawrence Cordon, and Amanda Morley. The team set 21 new personal records.

The next meet for the Lady Scots will be the Greenhill Six Mile Relay on Saturday, August 28th at Norbuck Park. The first race begins at 7:30 a.m.
