LADY SCOTS TRACK & FIELD TEAM PLACES 4TH AT REGION II-5A CHAMPIONSHIPS

Lady Scots Track & Field Team Places 4th at Region II-5A Championships

Congratulations to the Lady Scots Track & Field Team as they placed 4th at the Region II-5A Championships. The meet was held on Friday, April 23rd and Saturday, April 24th at UTA Maverick Stadium.

The team scored 51 points. Lancaster won the meet with 75 points, followed by Frisco Heritage - 59 points, and McKinney North - 58 points. There were 32 teams who scored at least one point.

Five of the Lady Scots seniors qualified for the UIL Class 5A State Championship on Friday, May 7th. Captain Cameron Fawcett placed 1st in the 3200 m run with a new personal record of 10:52.07, and she placed 2nd in the 1600 m run with a time of 4:57.06. Izzy Blaylock set a new personal record in the 800 m run and placed second with a time of 2:16.58. Captain Claire Cochran broke her own school record with a time of 14.65 in the 100 m hurdles. She placed second in the event. Her previous school record was 14.83. Senior Meredith Sims also had a great race as she placed second in the 100 m dash with a time of 11.95.

The other team members also had a great meet! Junior Alli Grace Ott tripled and placed sixth in all three events - 3200 m run (11:49.41), 800 m run (2:23.82), and 1600 m run (5:20.70 - a new personal record), sophomore Grace Hathaway placed 5th in the 1600 m run (5:18.94 - a new personal record), and the 4 x 400 m relay placed 5th with a personal record of 4:00.46. The relay team members were Kayla Dickerson, Izzy Blaylock, Cameron Fawcett, Raina Pietrzak, Elle Thompson, and Mia Green.

The team set nine new personal records, four new season bests, and 1 new school record.
