Congratulations to the Lady Scots Cross Country Team as they are the 5th best team in the State of Texas as they competed at the UIL Class 5A State Championship Meet On Monday, November 23rd. There were 13 teams and 121 runners.

Senior captain Cameron Fawcett is the 2nd best runner in the State of Texas as she ran a personal best of 17:29.01. Sophomore Charlotte Hudson placed 34th with a time of 18:40.01 – a new personal record, junior Alli Grace Ott placed 36th (18:40.64 – a season best), sophomore Grace Hathaway placed 43rd (18:48.74 – a new personal record), senior Izzy Blaylock placed 59th (19:02.05 – a new persona record), freshman Ashley Goldman placed 83rd (19:31.98 – a new personal record), and freshman Carolyn Flowers placed 90th (19:39.95 – a new personal record). The alternates were freshmen Rylie Galanos and Katie Taulbee, and senior Adelaide Aiken. The captains were Allison Brown, Lynne Bush, Cameron Fawcett, and Jordan Ott.

The team did an outstanding job and represented Highland Park with pride yesterday. The coaches are so proud of everyone!

The Lady Scots has had a team or an individual compete at the UIL State Cross Country Meet each year since 1975, the year girls first ran cross country. There are 255 girls cross country teams in Class 5A.
