Congratulations to the Lady Scots Cross Country Team as they placed 2nd at the Region II-5A Championship on Monday, November 9th. Lovejoy won the meet with 47 points.

There were 14 teams competing for the Region II-5A Championship and 126 runners. The team scored 68 points and was led by senior captain Cameron Fawcett. She placed 2nd with a time of 17:50.64 – a new Regional Meet personal record. Junior Alli Grace Ott placed 13th with a time of 19:33.36. Senior Izzy Blaylock placed 21st (19:54.32), sophomore Grace Hathaway placed 23rd (20:04.86), and freshman Ashley Goldman placed 27th with a new personal record of 20:18.40. Sophomore Charlotte Hudson placed 33rd (20:35.99), and freshman Carolyn Flowers placed 36th (20:46.31). The alternates were Rylie Galanos, Katie Taulbee, and Adelaide Aiken.

The top three teams and top 10 individuals not on one of these teams qualified for the State Meet. The next race for the Lady Scots will be the UIL State Meet on Saturday, November 23rd at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock. The race begins at 2:30 p.m.
