Running Scots compete @ District 13-5A Meet

The Running Scots competed well at the District 13-5A Championship Meet on Thursday @ Myers Park in McKinney. The Varsity team of Sam Brady, Charlie Campbell, Hunter Hegi, William Jaudes, Ethan Moss, Jake Richter, and Ruihan Zhu won the district championship with a low score in the meet of 37 points. The team was led by senior Captain Ethan Moss who finished with a bronze medal with a time of 17:43. Six runners earned 1st and 2nd team All-District honors. Ethan Moss, freshman William Jaudes and sophomore Hunter Hegi earned 1st team All-District honors, while Ruihan Zhu, Jake Richter, and Sam Brady earned 2nd team All-District honors with outstanding performances. William Jaudes is this weeks’ Golden Spike Award winner finishing 6th overall in the meet with a time of 18:03. Jaudes has improved his finish place over the last 3 meets. The JV also finished the day with a district championship with a perfect low score of 15, and were led by the individual JV champion, sophomore Tommy Kerr. Eight Running Scots JV runners finished in the top ten, and all ten runners finished in the top 16. The Running Scots qualified to compete in the Region II Championship meet on Monday, November 9th at Jesse Owens Complex in Dallas.
