The Lady Scots Cross Country Team began their competitive season on Friday, September 4th. The team competed in a 5K Intersquad Meet at Norbuck Park. The team was divided into three divisions, and there was a winner in each division. The winners were senior Katarina McIlveene (24:58.9), sophomore Ella Madden (24:32.7), and senior captain Cameron Fawcett (18:45.2).
The team is divided into families for the second consecutive season. Each family chose a color to wear to show teamwork – black, blue, watermelon, and white. It was a great afternoon, and it gave the team a chance to compete.
The following athletes set a new personal record for running a 5K at Norbuck Park: senior captain Cameron Fawcett, junior Alli Grace Ott, sophomore Charlotte Hudson, sophomore Sara Cavey, freshman Rylie Galanos, freshman Carolyn Flowers, senior Adelaide Aiken, freshman Ashley Goldman, freshman Katie Taulbee, freshman Steele Scripps, freshman Gracie Spillman, sophomore Ella Madden, senior Katarina McIlveene, freshman Ava Byrd, freshman Emory Rhodes, junior Katelyn Turco, sophomore Julia Yates, sophomore Chloe Haag, sophomore Windsor Rhodes, senior Hannah Grace Blevins, junior Isabella Reynolds, freshman Emery Smith, sophomore Allison Cannon, senior Olivia Cormier, freshman Elena Altschuler, freshman Clara Swartzendruber, freshman Adalyn Booth, sophomore Brantley Diehl, and freshman Isabelle Smith.
The next meet for the Lady Scots will be the Lovejoy Highland Park COVID Dual Meet on Saturday, September 12th. This will be a JV meet, and it will be held at Willow Springs Middle School in Lucas. The two mile race will begin at 7:30 a.m.
