Lady Scots Track & Field Team Hosts Tracy Wills Invitational

On Saturday, March 7th, the Lady Scots Track & Field Team hosted the Tracy Wills Invitational. Every year this is a very special day for the Lady Scots. This was the 26th year for the Tracy Wills Invitational. The following information is on the meet program: Tracy Wills was an outstanding Highland Park runner and honor student. She was known for her quick smile and as a fierce competitor. She died suddenly on March 1, 1995 of pneumonia. She was 15 years old. It is in her memory that we compete today.

This year the Lady Scots hosted four schools: Hockaday, Prestonwood Christian Academy, Ursuline Academy, and Dallas W.T. White. The Lady Scots won both the Varsity and JV Divisions. The Varsity set 17 new personal records. The top competitors were Gracyn Applegate, Izzy Blaylock, Emory Brink, Margaret Chambless, Claire Cochran, Olivia Conner, Kathryn Dunnill, Cameron Fawcett, Erin Harper, Grace Hathaway, Savannah Hinze, Charlotte Hudson, Margaret Kemp, Mary Warriner Kemp, Alie Lavish, Katarina McIlveene, Emma Means, Rebekah Miller, Alli Grace Ott, Melenaite Pahulu, Kate Rossley, Mary Margaret Sell, Alexis Sharrieff, Phoebe Spackman, Hattie Speicher, Elle Thompson, and Annemarie Whalen.

In the JV Division, the Lady Scots set 34 new personal records. The top competitors were Emily Adams, Linda Bakich, Hadley Bornemann, Allison Cannon, Katherine Ann Cochran, Madeline Davis, Mia Green, Anna Gregory, Chloe Haag, Sylvie Henry, Ellie Jones, Monica Kelley, Katie Kennedy, Katherine Anne Massey, Avery Owens, Raina Pietrzak, Mason Prather, Scarlett Randall, Windsor Rhodes, India Roberts, Lola Rodriguez, Alexis Scott, Peyton Stone, Katelyn Tanner, Hannah Thayer, Avery Turner, Katie Wells, and Charlya Williams.

This is also a day the team honors the seniors. Class of 2020: Captain Gracyn Applegate, Captain Margaret Chambless, Captain Olivia Conner, Erin Harper, Captain Margaret Kemp, Captain Mary Warriner Kemp, Captain Alie Lavish, Rebekah Miller, Melenaite Pahulu, Alexis Sharrieff, Phoebe Spackman, and Captain Annemarie Whalen.

The annual Fun Run for girls ages K-6th was also a big success! It was great to have all of the kids running and meeting the Lady Scots.

A big thank you to all of the parents, coaches, teachers, and community members who volunteered to help with the Tracy Wills Invitational. We could not host this meet without your help! We appreciate you so much!

The tracksters of the week are Savannah Hinze, Alie Lavish, and Hattie Speicher.

The next meet for the Lady Scots is the Raider Relays at Cedar Ridge High School on Thursday, March 12th. The field events and 3200 meter run starts at 2:30 p.m. followed by the running finals at 4:30 p.m.
