Lady Scots Track & Field Teams Compete at the Coppell Relays

The Lady Scots Track & Field Teams competed at the Coppell Relays on Saturday, February 29th. Both the Varsity and JV teams placed 6th out of 12 teams. Denton Guyer won the Varsity division followed by Coppell, Hebron, Marcus, and Rockwall. Guyer also won the JV division followed by Flower Mound, Marcus, Coppell, and Hebron.

In the Varsity division, Claire Cochran placed 2nd in the long jump (16’ 7”) and 3rd in the 100 m hurdles (15.18). Erin Harper placed 4th in the triple jump (36’ 4”) and in the 200 m dash (25.66) – both of these were new personal records. Cameron Fawcett set two new personal records by placing 3rd in the 3200 m run with a time of 10:54.99 and 6th in the 1600 m run with a time of 5:15.02, and Izzy Blaylock placed 5th in the 800 m run (2:23.52 – a season best). The 4 x 100 m relay placed 6th (50.14) – team members were Hattie Speicher, Claire Cochran, Kate Rossley, and Erin Harper. The 4 x 200 m relay placed 2nd (1:46.60) – senior captain Mary Warriner Kemp, Cochran, Elle Thompson, and Harper. The 4 x 400 m relay placed 5th (4:07.03) – Thompson, Kemp, Izzy Blaylock, and Cameron Fawcett.

The Varsity team set 10 new personal records: Phoebe Spackman – pole vault (9’ 6”), senior captain Gracyn Applegate – triple jump (29’ 7”), Grace Hathaway – 3200 m run (11:51.17), Kathryn Dunnill – 100 m hurdles (17.53), Savannah Hinze – 300 m hurdles (54.29), and Alli Grace Ott – 1600 m run (5:26).

In the JV Division, Ellie Jones placed 4th in the discus and set a new personal record with a throw of 74’ 6”. Caroline Morton placed 2nd in the high jump (4’ 8” – a season best), and Raina Pietrzak placed 2nd in the long jump (15’ 1”) and 5th in the triple jump (31’ 8”). Mary Sell Margaret placed 3rd in the 400 m dash, Katherine Anne Massey placed 4th in the 200 m dash (27.85), and Windsor Rhodes placed 6th in the 200 m dash (28.26). The 4 x 100 m relay placed 6th (53.79) – Scarlett Randall, Rana Pietrzak, India Roberts, and Katelyn Tanner. The 4 x 200 m relay placed 4th (1:54.78) – Tanner, Pietrzak, Roberts, and Linda Bakich, and the 4 x 400 m relay placed 4th (4:27.27) – Charlya Williams, Tanner, Pietrzak, and Bakich.

The JV set 16 new personal records – Peyton Stone (discus), Anna Gregory (discus and 100 m dash), Sylvie Henry (pole vault), Isabella Reynolds (shot put), Katie Kennedy (3200 m run), Katherine Ann Cochran (100 m hurdles), Katherine Anne Massey (100/300 m hurdles), Windsor Rhodes (100 m hurdles), Scarlett Randall (100 m hurdles), Alexandra Jack (100 m dash and 200 m dash), and Mia Green (300 m hurdles and 200 m dash).

The tracksters of the week were Claire Cochran, Cameron Fawcett, and Erin Harper.

The next meet for the Lady Scots will be the Tracy Wills Invitational at Germany Park, Saturday, March 7th. The 3200 meter run begins at 8:00 a.m., the field events begin at 9:00 a.m., and the running finals will start at 12:30 p.m. The Lady Scots will recognize the seniors at 11:45 a.m.

There will be a Fun Run at 10:00 a.m. for all girls K-6th grade. K-3rd grade will compete in the 800 m run and 4th-6th grade will compete in the 1600 m run. Come join the fun!
