Lady Scots Track & Field Team Competes at the Legacy Bronco Relays

The Lady Scots Track & Field Teams competed at the Mansfield Legacy Bronco Relays on Saturday, February 22nd. Both teams competed very well – the Varsity placed 1st out of 13 teams with 113 points, and the JV placed 6th out of 11 teams. Denton Guyer won the JV division.

In the Varsity Division, senior captain Alie Lavish tied for 3rd in the high jump (5’ 0”) and placed 5th in the 400 m dash (63.46 – a season best). Kendall Ferguson placed 6th in the pole vault, and Hattie Speicher placed 3rd in the triple jump by setting a new personal record with a jump of 35’ 2 ½”. Erin Harper set two new personal records on Saturday. In the triple jump, she jumped 35’ 0” and placed 4th and placed 5th in the 200 m dash with a time of 26.40. Alexis Sharrieff set a new personal record in the discus with a throw of 88’ 11”. Charlotte Hudson won the 3200 m run and set a new personal record with a time of 11:36.99. Alli Grace Ott placed 2nd in the 3200 m run (a season best – 11:37.88) and 4th in the 1600 m run (5:30.20 – a new personal record).

Cameron Fawcett placed 2nd in the 800 m run (2:19.50 – season best) and the 1600 m run (5:16.56 – new personal record). Elle Thompson placed 4th in the 800 m run (2:24.74) and 2nd in the 400 m dash (61.74 – a new personal record). Izzy Blaylock placed 5th in the 800 m run (2:25.27 – season best) and 4th in the 400 m dash (63.34 – a new personal record). Grace Hathaway placed 5th in the 1600 m run (5:30.74 – a new personal record). The
4 x 100 m relay placed 4th (50.64 – Hattie Speicher, Claire Cochran, Abigail Schott, Erin Harper). The 4 x 200 m relay placed 2nd (1:46.69 – Mary Warriner Kemp, C. Cochran, Schott, Harper), and the 4 x 400 m relay placed 3rd (4:06.87 – season best – Elle Thompson, MW Kemp, Izzy Blaylock, Cameron Fawcett).

In the JV Division, Brantley Diehl tied for 3rd in the pole vault (7’ 0” – a new personal record), and Mia Green and Sylvie Henry tied for 6th in the pole vault with a height of 6’ 0” (both set a new personal record). Hadley Bornemann placed 4th in the 3200 m run (13:09.41 – a new personal record) and 5th in the 1600 m run (6:09.55 – a new personal record). Kathryn Dunnill placed 2nd in the 100 m hurdles (18.11). In the 400 m dash, Mary Margaret Sell placed 3rd (65.90 – new personal record) and Linda Bakich placed 4th (66.14). Mason Prather placed 4th in the 1600 m run (6:07.84 – a new personal record). The 4 x 100 m relay placed 6th (55.19 – Kathryn Dunnill, Kate Rossley, India Roberts, Charlya Williams). The 4 x 200 m relay placed 5th (1:54.75 – Katelyn Tanner, Katherine Anne Massey, India Roberts, Linda Bakich), and the 4 x 400 m relay placed 1st (4:23.67 – Williams, Mary Margaret Sell, Tanner, Bakich).

The following JV athletes also set a new season best or a new personal record: Kathryn Dunnill (PR – long jump), Mia Green (PR – 300 m hurdles), Sylvie Henry (PR – 800 m run), Ellie Jones (PR – discus and shot put), Katie Kennedy (PR – 1600 m run), Mason Prather (PR – 3200 m run), and Alexis Scott (PR – 800 m run).

The tracksters of the week are Erin Harper, Mary Warriner Kemp, Alexis Sharrieff, and Hattie Speicher.

The next meet for the Lady Scots will be the Coppell Relays at Coppell High School on Saturday, February 29th. The field events begin at 8:00 a.m., the 3200 m run will start at 9:00 a.m., and the running finals will start at 1:00 p.m.
