Lady Scots Track & Field Teams Compete at Coppell Relays

Congratulations to the Lady Scots Track/Field Teams as they competed well at the Coppell Relays on Saturday. The Varsity team placed 5th out of 14 teams. Junior captain Olivia Conner placed 6th in the high jump (4’ 10”) and 6th in the 300 m hurdles (48.93 – a season best). The 4 x 100 m relay placed 5th with a time of 50.57 which was a season best. The relay members were Emma Means, Claire Cochran, Abigail Schott, and Erin Harper. Senior captain Maddy Stephens placed 4th in the 800 m run with a time of 2:21.81. Claire Cochran placed 3rd in the 100 m hurdles (16.51). The 4 x 200 m relay placed 2nd with a time of 1:45.50 – a season best. The relay members were Erin Harper, Claire Cochran, Abigail Schott, and Ella Patterson. Patterson also placed 4th in the 200 m dash (26.02). The 4 x 400 m relay placed 3rd with a time of 4:02.61 – a season best. The relay members were Alie Lavish, senior captain Maddy Stephens, Elle Thompson, and Ella Patterson.

The JV team placed 9th. Caroline Morton placed 6th in the high jump (4’ 6”), Linda Bakich placed 3rd in the triple jump (30’ 7”), Mary Warriner Kemp placed 1st in the 400 m dash (63.87), and the 4 x 400 m relay placed 5th with a time of 4:28.74. The relay members were Rebekah Miller, Emory Brink, Scarlett Randall, and Linda Bakich.

There were many athletes who had a season best: Georgia Holsomback (discus), Phoebe Spackman (pole vault), Emma Means (leg on 4 x 100 m relay), Claire Cochran (leg on 4 x 100 m relay), Abbie Meinecke (100 m dash), Erin Harper (leg on 4 x 200 m relay), Abigail Schott (leg on 4 x 200 m relays), Olivia Conner (300 m hurdles), Ashley Booe (300 m hurdles), Cameron Fawcett (1600 m run), Maddy Stephens (leg on 4 x 400 m relay), Elle Thompson (leg on 4 x 400 m relay), junior captain Gracyn Applegate (3200 m run), Hadley Bornemann (leg on 4 x 100 m relay), Linda Bakich (leg on 4 x 200 m relay and 4 x 400 m relay), 4 x 200 m relay (1:57.51 – Linda Bakich, Emory Brink, Rebekah Miller, Shelby Pettit), Annemarie Whalen (1600 m run), Emory Brink (leg on 4 x 400 m relay).

The following athletes also set new personal records: Georgia Holsomback (shot put), Ella Patterson (shot put), Cameron Fawcett (3200 m run), Alli Grace Ott (3200 m run), Ashlyn Meuse (100 m dash), Anastasia Helms (300 m hurdles), Sophia Oliai (1600 m run), Kate Lampe (discus and shot put), Chloe Kanaan (discus), Kathryn Dunnill (triple jump), Adelaide Aiken (3200 m run), Scarlett Randall (100 m hurdles and 300 m hurdles), Lizzie Means (100 m dash and 400 m dash), Leah Lavoie (100 m dash), 4 x 200 m relay (1:57.51), Linda Bakich (400 m dash), Alexandra Jack (200 m dash), and Lola Rodriguez (1600 m run).

The tracksters of the week are Claire Cochran and Ella Patterson.

The next meet for the Lady Scots will be the Richardson Invitational on Thursday, March 7th. The field events and 3200 m run start at 3:30 p.m., followed by the rest of the running events at 5:00.
