The Lady Scots Cross Country Team competed in the District 11-5A Championship Meet on Thursday, October 11th at Myers Park in McKinney. In the Varsity Division, the team placed 1st. This was the 40th District Championship for the Lady Scots out of 45. The team scored 16 points. Sophomore Sophia Oliai led the team by placing 1st with a time of 21:39.4. Senior captain Maddy Stephens placed 2nd with a time of 22:37.5, and sophomore Isabel Blaylock placed 3rd with a time of 23:06.2. The other team members were freshman Alli Grace Ott (4th-23:07.5), juniors Phoebe Spackman (6th-23:18.1–a new meet personal record), Gracyn Applegate (7th–23:25.7), and Grace O’Keefe (9th–24:17.6).
In the JV Division, the team placed 1st with 15 points. The JV has never been beaten when they have had a team competing in the District Meet. Junior Annemarie Whalen led the team as she placed 1st with a time of 22:41.4. Senior Anastasia Helms placed 2nd with a time of 22:50.0, and sophomore Elle Thompson placed 3rd with a time of 22:58.0. The other top four team members were senior captain Ashley Booe (4th-23:18.5), seniors Kristen Adams (5th–23:18.6) and Maddie Brown (6th-23:32.5), and sophomore Sydney Denison (7th-23:36.9).
The Lady Scots set two new course personal records – senior Kristen Adams (23:18.6) and junior Caroline Dugan (25:23.9). Three new meet personal records were also set – juniors Phoebe Spackman (23:18.1) and Caroline Dugan (25:23.9), and senior Sophie Jones (29:08.3).

The next meet for the Lady Scots will be the Region II-5A Meet at Lynn Creek Park in Grand Prairie on Monday, October 22nd. The race begins at 12:00 p.m.
