The Lady Scots Track/Field Teams competed at the Argyle Invitational on Thursday, March 8th. Both the Varsity and JV won the meet. The Varsity scored 183 points and set 16 new personal records.

In the Varsity Division, junior Morgan Thompson placed 1st in the discus with a throw of 95'; sophomore Melenaite Pahulu placed 5th in the discus (88' 7?) and 4th in the shot put (30' 3.5? – a new personal record); sophomore Olivia Conner tied for 2nd in the high jump (4' 10?), won the 100 m hurdles (17.08 – a new personal record) and the 300 m hurdles (48.80); freshman Caroline Morton tied for 2nd in the high jump (4' 10? – tied her personal record); senior captain Abbey Govett placed 2nd in the long jump (16' 5.5?); sophomore Margaret Chambless placed 6th in the long jump (15' 4?) and 5th in the triple jump (32' 1.5?); sophomore Phoebe Spackman placed 4th in the pole vault (9' 0? – a new personal record); senior captain Brynn Weakley won the triple jump (34' 6.75? – a new personal record); freshman Cameron Fawcett won the 3200 m run (11:35.37 – a new personal record) and placed 2nd in the 1600 m run (5:20.53 – a new personal record); freshman Sophia Oliai placed 2nd in the 3200 m run (11:37.10 – a new personal record); senior Emily Nelson placed 4th in the 3200 m run (12:23.22); the 4 x 100 m relay placed 5th (52.76) – senior captain Abbey Govett, sophomore Olivia Conner, sophomore Margaret Chambless, and junior captain Claire Kozmetsky; junior Maddy Stephens won the 800 m run and set a new personal record (2:15.82) and placed 2nd in the 400 m dash (58.60); sophomore Mary Warriner Kemp placed 3rd in the 800 m run (2:27.26); senior Jordyn Kaplan placed 4th in the 800 m run (2:27.90); junior Ashley Booe placed 5th in the 100 m hurdles (17.89 – a new personal record) and 4th in the 300 m hurdles (49.81); the 4 x 200 m relay placed 3rd (1:48.22 – a new season best) – senior captain Abbey Govett, sophomore Mary Warriner Kemp, sophomore Margaret Chambless, and freshman Ella Patterson; freshman Ella Patterson won the 400 m dash (58.46); the 4 x 400 m relay placed 2nd (4:02.81) – senior captain Abbey Govett, junior Maddy Stephens, sophomore Mary Warriner Kemp, freshman Ella Patterson.

The other Varsity athletes who set new personal records were: senior captain Ellie Henry (discus – 73' 4?), senior captain Brynn Weakley (long jump – 14' 9.25? and 400 m dash – 62.32) , junior Morgan Thompson (shot put – 28' 4.25?), senior Kiersten Diercks (shot put – 26' 4.5?), and sophomore Phoebe Spackman (triple jump – 31' 1.5?).

The JV team scored 189 points. Junior Abbie Meinecke placed 2nd in the high jump (4' 6?), sophomore Alie Lavish placed 4th in the high jump (4' 6?), and freshman Emory Brink tied for 5th in the high jump (4' 6?). Freshman Claire Cochran placed 4th in the long jump (13' 10.5?), 1st in the triple jump (32' 5.75? – a new personal record), 1st in the 100 m hurdles (17.51 – a new personal record), and 1st in the 300 m hurdles (52.71). Sophomore Rebekah Miller placed 5th in the long jump (13' 7.5? – a new personal record); sophomore Alexis Sharrieff placed 6th in the shot put (25' 8? – a new personal record); freshman Kathryn Dunnill placed 3rd in the triple jump (29' 3.75?) and 5th in the 100 m hurdles (18.68); sophomore Gracyn Applegate won the 3200 m run (12:33.30); junior Kristen Adams placed 2nd in the 3200 m run (13:19.47); junior Kat Gough placed 4th in the 3200 m run (13:44.30); the 4 x 100 m relay placed 2nd (53.81) – sophomore Rebekah Miller, junior Taylor Clark, sophomore Alie Lavish, and junior Ashlyn Meuse; freshman Isabel Blaylock placed 2nd in the 800 m run (2:31.55 – a new personal record), 4th in the 400 m dash (68.18 – a new personal record), and 4th in the 1600 m run (5:54.29); sophomore Breanne Spence placed 3rd in the 800 m run (2:32.85) and 3rd in the 300 m hurdles (55.18); sophomore Annemarie Whalen placed 4th in the 800 m run (2:35.78) and 3rd in the 1600 m run (5:41.59); junior Taylor Clark placed 5th in the 100 m dash (14.03); the 4 x 200 m relay won (1:53.88) – sophomore Rebekah Miller, junior Taylor Clark, sophomore Alie Lavish, and junior Ashlyn Meuse; freshman Ella Thompson won the 400 m dash (66.45 – a new personal record); junior Sarah Dalton placed 6th in the 400 m dash (68.95 – a new personal record); junior Lizzy Brimmage placed 6th in the 200 m dash (29.57); sophomore Grace O’Keefe placed 2nd in the 1600 m run (5:38.80), and the 4 x 400 m relay won (4:23.75) – freshman Claire Cochran, sophomores Breanne Spence, Alie Lavish, and Rebekah Miller.

The JV athletes set 12 new personal records – junior Lily Marchetto (discus – 56' 3?), sophomore Anna Caroline McCormick (shot put – 25' 5?), freshman Jordan Ott (shot put – 23' 9?), and freshman Kendall Ferguson (100 m dash – 14.40).

The tracksters of the week are sophomore Olivia Conner and freshman Cameron Fawcett.

The Lady Scots will host the Tracy Wills Invitational on Saturday, March 24th. The 3200 m run starts at 8:00 a.m., the field events start at 8:30, and the running events start at 1:00 p.m. There will be a Fun Run for girls who are K-3rd (800 m run) and 4th-6th (1600 m run) that will begin at 9:00 a.m. All girls who are wanting to be a part of the Fun Run need to report to the starting line at 8:50 a.m.
