The Lady Scots Track/Field Teams competed at the Newman Smith Trojan Relays on Saturday, February 17th. The Varsity placed 3rd with 67 points. Frisco Heritage won the meet with 122 points followed by Plano with 81 points. The other teams were Southlake Carroll, Plano West, Plano East, Garland, Carrollton Creekview, Mesquite Poteet, Lake Highlands, Frisco Centennial, Frisco Independence, Carrollton Newman Smith, Frisco Lone Star, and Little Elm.

Junior Morgan Thompson placed 3rd in the discus – 95' 0?; Sophomore Olivia Conner – 3rd in the high jump – 5' 2? (new personal record) and tied for 1st in the 300 m hurdles – 45.60 (new personal record); Senior Captain Abbey Govett – 2nd in the long jump – 16' 9 1/2?; Senior Captain Christi Krikorian – 5th in the pole vault – 8' 0?; Senior Captain Brynn Weakley – 4th in the triple jump – 32' 4? and set a new personal record in the long jump (14' 5 1/2?) and the 800 m run (2:27.57); Sophomore Margaret Chambless – 5th in the triple jump – 32' 0?; Freshman Cameron Fawcett – 2nd in the 3200 m run – 11:36.98 and 4th in the 1600 m run – 5:24.06; Junior Maddy Stephens – 2nd in the 800 m run – 2:15.99 (new personal record) and 5th in the 400 m dash – 60.08; the 4 x 400 m relay placed 4th with a time of 4:06.67 – the team members were senior captain Abbey Govett, junior Maddy Stephens, senior captain Brynn Weakley, and sophomore Mary Warriner Kemp. Seniors Emily Nelson and Grace Moreland set a new personal record in the 3200 m run (12:21.68) and the 100 m dash (13.79), respectively.

The JV team placed 3rd with 86 points. Frisco Heritage also won the JV division with 151.5 points, followed by Southlake Carroll with 94 points. There were 16 teams in the JV division.

Freshman Emory Brink placed 3rd in the high jump – 4' 6?; Junior Lily Marchetto and freshman Caroline Morton tied for 5th in the high jump – 4' 4?; Freshman Claire Cochran 5th in the long jump – 15' 1/2? and 2nd in the 300 m hurdles – 51.78; Sophomore Olivia Briggs 6th in the long jump – 15' 0?; Sophomore Phoebe Spackman 2nd in the pole vault – 8' 0?; Sophomore Rebekah Miller 5th place in the pole vault – 7' 0?; Freshman Ella Patterson 4th in the shot put – 26' 8?; Freshman Hollis Vaughan 6th in the 3200 m run – 13:22.90; 4 x 100 m relay 4th with a time of 52.80 – team members were freshmen Annie Smith and Josie Krejs, sophomore Olivia Briggs, and freshman Ella Patterson; Sophomore Annemarie Whalen 3rd in the 800 m run – 2:29.49 and 3rd in the 1600 m run – 5:41.53; Freshman Kathryn Dunnill tied for 1st in the 100 m hurdles – 17.77 and 5th in the 300 m hurdles – 53.34; 4 x 200 m relay placed 1st with a time of 1:49.74 – team members were freshmen Claire Cochran and Josie Krejs, sophomore Olivia Briggs, and freshman Ella Patterson; Freshman Isabel Blaylock 6th in the 1600 m run – 5:49.68; 4 x 400 m relay placed 1st with a time of 4:18.74 – team members were sophomore Annemarie Whalen, freshman Ella Thompson, sophomore Olivia Briggs, and freshman Ella Patterson. Juniors Maddie Brown and Cara Thornton set a new personal record in the 3200 m run (14:10.33) and 100 m dash (15.60), respectively.

The tracksters of the week are sophomore Olivia Conner and freshman Cameron Fawcett.

The next meet for the Lady Scots will be the McKinney Boyd Relays on Saturday, February 24th. The running events start at 8:00 a.m., followed by the field events at 1:30 p.m.
