The Men’s Highland Park Varsity Basketball Team’s season came to an end Friday night with a 64-57 loss to highly-ranked Little Elm. The Scots played a great first half taking a 10 point lead into the locker room at halftime. HP has been the second half team in recent games but Friday night it was Little Elm that came out strong in the what became the decisive 3rd quarter outscoring the Scots 19-3.
Highland Park scoring was led by Senior Captain Alex Staffaroni with 29 points. Cade Wagner added 8 points, Dillon Powell had 7 and Reilly Seebold chipped in 6. Finn Corwin drew the tough defensive assignment against 5 Star recruit RJ Hampton from Little Elm frustrating the star for most of the night. Finn added 5 points and 7 assists. Prince Dorbah rounded out the scoring for HP with 2 points and 7 rebounds.
The Scots finished the 2017-18 season with an overall record of 23-12. A 2nd place finish in District 15 5A and advanced to the Area Round of the playoffs.
