On Saturday, September 19th, the Lady Scots Cross Country Team competed at two different meets - Lovejoy Fall Festival and McNeil Invitational.

At the Lovejoy Fall Festival, the team competed in two divisions. In the Varsity Girls division, the team placed 5th. There were 14 teams and 130 runners in this division. Freshman Sloane Odom led the team by placing 22nd with a time of 21:04.4. Freshman Jing Wang placed 29th with a time of 21:20.5. The other team members were seniors Jenna McCombs and Campbell Ragan, junior Kate Swaldi, freshman Catherine Lien, and junior Charlotte Hodges.

In the JV Division, the team placed 5th out of 19 teams. There were 196 runners in this race. Senior captain Emery Paulsen led the team by placing 35th with a time of 23:35.7. The other top six runners for the Lady Scots were sophomore Natalia Garcia Villalon, juniors Kate Furgeson, Thuy-Vi Le,and Anna Odom, freshman Emma August, and sophomore Evelyn Shull.

The following Lady Scots set new personal 5K records: freshman Sloane Odom, sophomore Evelyn Shull, freshman Kim-anh Le, junior Olivia Wade, and freshmen Brinnley Perritt and Gwennan Jones.

These Lady Scots had new season bests: junior Kate Swaldi, senior captain Emery Paulsen, sophomore Natalie Garcia Villalon, juniors Kate Furgeson, Thuy-V Le, Anna Odom, and Hannah Orvananos Cardenas, senior captain Caroline Diehl, and junior Addie Bush.

The following Lady Scots set new Lovejoy Fall Festival personal records: senior Jenna McCombs, junior Kate Swaldi, senior captain Emery Paulsen, sophomore Natalia Garcia Villalon, junior Thuy-Vi Le, sophomore Evelyn Shull, and junior Addie Bush.

The coaches are so proud of the team! Everyone is working together as a team, and it is so much fun to watch!

The next race for the team will be at the Byron Nelson Invitational on Saturday, September 26th at Gene Pike Middle School in Northlake. The first race begins at 7:00 a.m.
