On Saturday, March 28th, the Lady Scots Track & Field Team hosted the Tracy Wills Invitational. Every year this is a very special day for the Lady Scots. This was the 31st year for the Tracy Wills Invitational. The following information is on the meet program: Tracy Wills was an outstanding Highland Park runner and honor student. She was known for her quick smile and as a fierce competitor. She died suddenly on March 1, 1995 of pneumonia. She was 15 years old. It is in her memory that we compete today.
This year the Lady Scots hosted 17 schools: Arlington Bowie, Arlington Sam Houston, College Station, DeSoto, Frisco Lone Star, Frisco Memorial, Garland Lakeview Centennial, Garland Naaman Forest, Grapevine, Lancaster, Magnolia, Newman Smith, Northwest Eaton, Ursuline Academy, Waxahachie, Wylie, and Young Women’s Leadership Academy.
The Lady Scots placed 2nd in the Varsity and JV. The team set 39 new personal records and had 9 new season bests.
The annual Fun Run for girls ages K-6th was also a big success! It was great to have the future Lady Scots racing and meeting the current Lady Scots.
A big thank you to all of the parents, coaches, teachers, and community members who volunteered to help with the Tracy Wills Invitational. We could not host this meet without your help! We appreciate you so much!
Go Scots!
