The Scots ended up wrestling five men in the state tournament. Sophomore Bey Friedrich won one match in his first state tournament appearance. Bey finished his sophomore season with a 34-12 record!

Fellow sophomore Jax Hanson narrowly missed placing, finishing the tournament 2-2, losing a tough match in the blood round to end his season. Jax finished his sophomore year with a sterling 47-10 record, leading the Scots with the most wins on the season!

Sophomore Graham Rodgers also won one match at the tournament battling some tough competition. Rodgers no doubt showed his mettle with some gritty performances despite being injury-plagued this season!

Another sophomore Holden Jacobs wrestled a stellar tournament, winning four of five matches to complete a bronze-medal finish! Jacobs capped off his last win with an exciting takedown with less than 8 seconds left in the match to defeat his opponent from Melissa for a third straight week.

Jacobs amassed a dominant 44-5 record this season on his way to his 3rd place finish in the state. That record led the Scots in winning percentage this season.

Finally, our lone senior wrestler competing at state, Bennett Ham, made another run at a title on his way to a state final appearance. Ham fell just short of winning state, finishing with the silver medal and a dominant senior season.

Ham wrestled in the finals of every tournament he competed in this year, finishing his season with a 33-6 record and 106 career wins!

The Scots finished the state tournament in the top ten of the team standings, 9th overall with 48.5 team points. The future is bright for this young team as we look forward to developing our young talent and adding to our state qualifiers and medalists next year!
