The Lady Scots Track & Field Teams competed at the McKinney Boyd Relays on Friday, February 13th. The meet is usually a two-day meet, but due to the weather forecast of rain and lightning, the field and running events scheduled for Saturday were cancelled.

On Friday afternoon and evening, the teams competed in one field event and three running events. Both the Varsity and JV placed 2nd. The athletes competed well. This was the first regular season meet for the Lady Scots.

*3200 M Run - Ryan Sontag - 1st place - 11:32.73 (PR); Paisley Bassett - 5th place - 11:58.62
*4 x 800 M Relay - 3rd place - 10:15.67 - team members were Ryan Sontag, Presley Pate, Paisley Bassett, and senior captain Maddie Heckler
*1600 M Run - Senior captain Maddie Heckler - 5:56.44

*3200 M Run - Claire Deeken - 2nd place - 12:36.63
*4 x 800 M Relay - 2nd place - 10:51.82 (PR) - team members were Taylor Miller, Annie Cooper, Irene Cooper, and Claire Deeken
*1600 M Run - Irene Cooper - 6:14.08

The following athletes set PR's: Katelyn Baumgartner - 3200 M Run - 14:11.39, Claire Deeken - 4 x 800 M Relay split - 2:37.79, Ava Thropp - 1600 M Run - 6:21.86, Morgan Howarth - 1600 M Run - 6:26.51.

The next meet for the Lady Scots is the Hebron Hawk Invitational on Saturday, February 21st. The field events start at 8:30 a.m., the 3200 M Run starts at 9:00 a.m., followed by the running finals at 12:30 p.m.
