Scots Wrestling brings home hardware again at the Regional tournament!

The Scots wrestling team was on the road again this past week, wrestling in the Region 3-5A Wrestling Championships held in Bryan, TX. The Scots brought a total of 10 varsity wrestlers to the regional tournament and seven of the ten placed in the top six of their respective weights. The top four of each weight advance to the state tournament this upcoming Friday-Saturday at the Berry Center in Cypress, TX.

The Scots had two regional champions in sophomore Holden Jacobs and senior Bennett Ham. Both wrestled outstanding matches on their way to their titles!

The Scots have four more advancing to the state tournament with sophomores Bey Friedrich, Jax Hanson, and Graham Rodgers punching their tickets to state as well as junior Thomas Wildman as a state alternate at his respective weight.

Our men’s team also came home with some team hardware once again, finishing as runner-up to Melissa for the Regional championship. Congratulations to all wrestlers, we are primed and ready to take aim at the state field this weekend at the Berry Center.

Placing in the top six of their respective weights were:

3rd place: Bey Friedrich, Jax Hanson
4th place: Graham Rodgers
5th place: Thomas Wildman
6th place: Emmett Carroll

Also wrestling in the Regional tournament were Laird Greenfield, Elijah Pierce, and Daniella Flores.
