The Lady Scots Cross Country Team had a great race day at the 40th Greenhill 6-Mile Relay on Saturday, August 23th at Norbuck Park in Dallas.

In the 6A/5A Varsity Girls Division, there were 26 teams, and the Lady Scots placed 3rd and 9th. The relay members for the 3rd place team were sophomore Paisley Bassett, sophomore Finley Heckler, senior Presley Pate, and freshman Stella Pruett. The relay time was 37:14 – the 16th fastest relay time in the history of the Lady Scots. The 9th place relay members were juniors Claire Deeken and Annie Cooper, senior captain Julia Berlin, and junior Campbell Ragan. The relay time was 39:37.

In the Junior Varsity “A” Girls Division, there were 37 teams. HP had two teams compete in this division. The teams placed 5th and 7th. The 5th place relay members were seniors Ava Thropp and Eva Boutros, junior Jenna McCombs, and senior Campbell Dean. The 7th place team consisted of sophomores Katelyn Baumgartner, Kate Furgeson, Kate Swaldi, and Anna Odom.

In the Junior Varsity “B” Girls Division, there were 44 teams. HP had four teams compete in this division. The top HP team placed 6th. The relay members were juniors Avi Levy, Ellie Chong, Emery Paulsen, and senior captain Gracie Golden. The 9th place team members were freshman Lily Langton, senior Morgan Howarth, freshman Alexandra Deuillet, and sophomore Hannah Orvananos Cardenas. The 12th place team members were: senior captain Kate Lipscomb, junior Alejandra Villasana, senior Mary Grace Mousa, and junior Caroline Diehl. The relay time was 48:53. The 19th place team members were: senior captain Bess Prather, junior Kamryn Tillery, senior Greer Jackson, and sophomore Addie Bush. The relay time was 52:46.

The following athletes set new personal Greenhill 6-Mile Relay course records: Paisley Bassett, Finley Heckler, Presley Pate, Claire Deeken, Annie Cooper, Campbell Ragan, Ava Thropp, Eva Boutros, Katelyn Baumgartner, Emery Paulsen, Alejandra Villasana, Greer Jackson, and Addie Bush.

The next meet for the Lady Scots will be the Coach T – Marcus Invitational at North Lakes Park in Denton. The first race begins at 7:00 a.m.
