Congratulations to the Lady Scots Cross Country Team as they placed 7th with 225 points at the UIL Region I-6A Championship Meet on Tuesday, October 24th. Sophomore Maddie Heckler led the team by placing 29th with a time of 19:12.60, and freshman Claire Deeken placed 33rd with a time of 19:21.30. The other team members were junior Samantha Meck, senior Kayla Dickerson, freshman Ryan Sontag, senior Gracie Spillman, and senior Katie Taulbee. The alternates were Campbell Dean, Hayden Gray, Presley Pate, Varsha Ravi, and Caroline Scott. The 2023-24 senior captains are Adalyn Booth, Rylie Galanos, and Ashley Goldman.

The coaches are so proud of the team as they had a great season! Region I is the toughest region in 6A, and the team competed very well!

This is the second time Highland Park has competed in Region I and raced at Mae Simmons Park at the Regional Meet.
