The Running Scots competed well at the Lovejoy XC Fall Festival at Myers Park in McKinney. The Varsity Elite team of Jacob Baumgartner, Bennett Blevins, Jackson Dean, Luke Hall, and Luke Smith finished 25th out of 37 teams competing. The team was led by Senior Captain Jackson Dean who finished close to a personal best time @ 16:37.44. The team combined had the best 1-5 split in the division at 22 seconds.

The Varsity Open team finished 14th out of 35 teams competing. The team was led by an outstanding performance from Akash Shah who finished 29th overall out of 278 runners with a personal best time of 17:42.1.

In the JV Elite Division the team finished 18th overall and were led by an outstanding performance from Freshman Alec Salim-Gomez. In his first 5K race, Gomez finished 61st out 270 runners. Five JV runners ran personal best times.

Runners of the week are: Varsity Elite - Jackson Dean; Varsity Open - Akash Shah; JV Elite - Alec Salim-Gomez.

The Running Scots will travel to Mae Simmons Park in Lubbock to compete in the Lubbock ISD XC Invitational on Saturday. Race time is 2:30 PM.
