The Running Scots competed well at the Marcus Coach T Invitational on Saturday at North Lakes Park in Denton.

The Varsity Elite team of Jacob Baumgartner, Bennett Blevins, Jackson Dean, Luke Hall, William Jaudes, Frankie Stewart, and Max Villasana finished 11th out of 35 teams competing. For the second week in a row the team posted an average time under 16:45. The team was led by outstanding performances from junior Bennett Blevins and senior Jackson Dean who finished 50th and 58th overall respectively. Both runners posted sub 6-minute miles on their 3 mile split. Dean was only 23 seconds off of his 2 mile split, and finished only 7 seconds off his personal best 5K last week at Southlake.

The Varsity Open team finished 21st out of 34 teams and were led by junior Archer Stahl and sophomore Akash Shah. Stahl was only 10 seconds off his of his personal best from last season on a challenging course.

The Junior Varsity competed in the Elite division and finished 21st overall and were led by freshman Charlie Hamilton who finished 43rd out of 356 runners with a time of 19:34 in his first 5k.

The Varsity Runners of the Week are Jackson Dean and Archer Stahl. The JV Runner of the Week is Charlie Hamilton. The team will compete next on Saturday, September 16th at the Lovejoy XC Fall Festival at Myers Park in McKinney. Race time is 7:40 AM. Go Scots!!
