The Lady Scots Cross Country Team started the competitive season on Saturday, August 14th at the Plano ISD Meet. The meet was held at Russell Creek Park in Plano. In the Varsity Division, there were 13 teams and 104 runners. The Lady Scots placed 1st with 65 points. The top runner for the Lady Scots was junior Charlotte Hudson. She placed 3rd with a time of 18:52.5 – a new personal course record. Junior Sara Cavey placed 8th with a time of 19:33.1. Senior captain Alli Grace Ott placed 10th with a time of 19:38.0. The other runners were sophomore Kayla Dickerson (17th – 20:10.3), junior Grace Hathaway (27th – 20:47.1), sophomore Ashley Goldman (29th – 20:49.6), freshman Elise Neuoff (37th – 21:11.7), and sophomore Rylie Galanos (68th – 22:30.2).

In the JV Division, the Lady Scots placed 1st with 37 points. There were 9 teams and 122 runners in this division. Freshman Samantha Meck led the team by placing 3rd with a time of 21:36.5. The other top runners were freshman Varsha Ravi (5th – 22:14.0), senior Taylor Saphier (7th – 22:28.3), sophomore Katie Taulbee (8th – 22:37.2), sophomore Grace Spillman (14th – 23:10.6), freshman Reese Preston (16th – 23:13.6), and freshman Mary Katherine Diehl (18th – 23:23.3).

The following athletes also set new personal course records: Ava Murphy, senior captain Scarlett Randall, Avery Owens, Allison Cannon, and senior captain Ellie Jones.

The next meet for the Lady Scots will be the Waxahachie Woodhouse Invitational on Saturday, August 21st at Lakeview Camp in Waxahachie. The Varsity races at 7:00 a.m., followed by the JV approximately at 7:50 a.m.
